PlayStation 4 Version Technical Breakdown

With the introduction of a new platform for God Eater 2: Rage Burst comes a host of technical upgrades that make the experience on hand better than it’s ever been. Here are some of the biggest improvements you can expect when picking up the PlayStation 4 version:

- High definition visuals that give you an even more striking, detailed view of battle than ever before. Not only that, the extra screen real estate allows you to concentrate on fighting without UI elements getting in the way of your center of vision!

- Support for the DualShock 4’s speaker for Operator messages. While you can still have NPC chatter appear directly on the screen like before, we suggest giving your DualShock 4 a shot and having them piped through its speakers, as it’s sure to heighten immersion!

- 5.1 surround sound for positional audio. From support characters speaking up behind you to Aragami rampaging all around, the game’s audio will come out of different speakers depending on their in-game position, heightening your ability to stay in touch with battlefield conditions intuitively at all times!

New Character

Isaac Feldman (voiced by Hiroki Yasumoto)

Age: 29

Height: 190 cm. (approximately 6’3″)

Isaac is chief of intelligence management at Fenrir, in charge of public relations and information control as it relates to Fenrir. He’s sent to the far eat base from Fenrir’s headquarters in an attempt to clamp down on the Spiral Tree and monitor it. Upon discovering Livie’s latent talent for using a wide array of God Arcs, he recruits her to take down God Arc users who have become Aragami.

The Spiral Tree’s Many Explorable Fields

Rage Burst‘s new story content takes place in an area known as the “Spiral tree.” Though it’s all contained under one overarching banner, the Spiral Tree itself is host to dozens of fields that players will traverse as they go about their missions. The members of Blood are as such tasked with reclaiming these areas one by one as they make their way up to the top levels. Read below for a sampling of a few places players can expect to encounter during their travels.

- The Outer Edges. An area that gives off an almost uniquely sacred vibe, the Outer Edges are a quiet part of the Spiral Tree that’s bathed in beams of soft sunlight. In the roots of the innumerable trees stick out remnants of man-made artifacts, a testament of the sheer enormity of the Spiral Tree as it works to claim the land for itself.

- The Bottom Level. In contrast to the serene beauty of the Outer Edges, the Bottom Level has a distinctly eerie air about it. A blue substance can be seen propagating in spots, indicating that the Spiral Tree itself may in fact be falling victim to a disease of some sort.

- The Middle Layer. The farther up along the Spiral Tree Blood heads, the less the tree appears to be a product of nature, as evidenced by the Middle Layer’s grounding becoming mineralized. A desolate area all around, little of note can be found other than the waterfalls that flow down through it.

New Aragami

Silky

The Silky is a floating-type Aragami that came under observation in the far east. Its name coming from the cape that it wears on its back, the Silky is able to shoot out balls of blue fire thanks to an oracle that still lingers within the fields of the Spiral Tree, as well as tear things up with its long claws, making it a dangerous opponent to go up against. It’s bound to appear time and again as the members of Blood explore the Spiral Tree.

Survival Missions and Camping Scenes

As is par for the course, Rage Burst has Survival Missions that players can partake in, particular throughout the Spiral Tree. New for the expansion, however, are Camping Scenes that take place in-between strings of fights where players can not only get ready for what’s to come, but also catch small glimpses of the cast doing various things as they take their breaks. It’s worth noting, though, that during these segments, players can’t refill on expendable items while out on Survival Missions, even during Camping Scenes, so careful planning must be made in advance.

Additionally, Survival Missions in Rage Burst have a stat that’s known as “Endurance.” Applied to every member in a combat party, Endurance is an important thing to keep an eye on because as characters are downed and have to be respawned, it’ll go down and should it run out completely, they’ll be taken out of battle completely. Should this happen to the player character, they’ll fail the mission. Since Survival Missions take place over the course of a series of fights, paying attention to characters’ Endurance is of the utmost importance.

New Gameplay System: Personal Abilities

The Personal Ability system is a new way for players to more finely tune their NPC allies so that they develop just how they like. This is accomplished by spending Ability Points that each character gets by going on missions that can be spent unlocking Personal Abilities, thereby learning new skills and boosting existing parameters that can then be exploited in battle. What each character picks up in the end is entirely up to the player!

New Character Creator Parts and Outfits

Like much of Rage Burst, the character creator has seen some expansion, bringing with it new faces, hairstyles, accessories, and more. Similarly, a number of new wearable outfits have been added on top of all of the ones from the base game that will be carried over. As your choice in outfits doesn’t influence your stats or skills one way or another, you can feel free to dress up how you like without worrying about any consequences!

New Aragami types for God Eater 2: Rage Burst detailed

Save data transfer details and demo version mentioned, too.

This week’s Famitsu leaks have a small update about some of the new content coming for God Eater 2: Rage Burst, especially with respect to new Aragami types and details about what data will be carried over when importing saves from the original God Eater 2.

Firstly, the new Aragami types are described to be a bunch that have parts on their bodies that closely resemble God Arcs, apparently due to the corruption brought about by the Spiral Tree. Their data is listed in the magazine as follows:

Rasetsu Kongou, an Aragami that looks like a fusion between a standard Kongou and a Boost Hammer.

Caligula Zeno, an Aragami described as resembling a Rufus Caligula and a Charge Spear mixed together.

Mukuro Kyuubi, a Kyuubi variation mixed with a Short Sword.

With respect to God Eater 2 save data transfers, which we’ve covered previously, the majority of data is written to be carried over to Rage Burst as is, although some equipment will be replaced with items that have equivalent stat parameters. For those curious about the specifics beyond that, read on below:

Items, materials, clothes, and (again) most equipment will carry over.

Composite cores will be converted into cash.

Any money will be transferred over in full.

Party members’ growth will be dictated by the level they were at in the God Eater 2 save.

Character creation will be unlocked from the start.

Blood Arts and Blood Bullets will be transferred over with their Awakened percentages intact.

Records for amounts of Avatar Card weapon usage, Aragami extermination, and times an NPC is brought into a combat party will all be kept.

Code Names cannot be changed.

Save data with a difficulty level of 7 or higher that’s unlocked will start Rage Burst at level 7 and can also attain rank 7 Kurogane.

Trophies for Rage Burst are being completely redone, meaning none from the original game will be transferable.

Finally, a demo version of the game for both PS4 and PS Vita has been confirmed, with no download date set as of yet.

per noi le info sul trasferimento dati sono abbastanza superflue visto che qui al 99.99% arriverà direttamente il burst

The latest set of God Eater 2: Rage Burst screenshots detail the upcoming upgrade’s new “Special Duty Missions” system, new Blood Arts attacks, and special Blood Arts included with early copies of the game.
Get the details below.

New System: Special Duty Missions

A new system where highly difficult missions occasionally occur. These missions, however, feature easily obtainable rare materials. As a reward for carrying out these missions, you can also obtain “Global Ability Points,” which can be used to upgrade your party characters through the Personal Ability System. Because chances to engage in these missions disappear as you accept orders for other missions, and there are rewards even for failing missions, aggressively accepting missions is recommended.

Global Ability Points are points required to learn specific Personal Abilities. They’re attained by doing things such as clearing your first mission or clearing Special Duty missions. Unlike standard AP, GAP is shared by the entire party, so which characters and abilities you choose when consuming it is an important key to their growth.

When a Special Duty mission is available, an indicator will appear in the Mission Order menu.

Return of the Defense Unit Also Included

The story from God Eater 2 downloadable content Return of the Defense Unit, which sees the return of the Defense Unit, as well as new operators Teruomi Makabe and Urara Hoshino, is also included in the newly rebuilt God Eater 2: Rage Burst.

New Blood Arts

Hummingbird Dance - Short blade (changes with the Square button air attack). A powerful air attack. Stamina is recovered when it hits, allowing for even more consecutive attacks.

Wave Slice - Long blade (changes with the Triangle button attack). Your movement distance increases when you use the Triangle attack, and critical damage increases as you level it.

Alder Swing - Buster blade (changes with the Square attack). The damage output increases based on the enemy Aragami’s weakness. What’s more, as it leaves few openings for counterattacks and enhances square button attacks, which are already easy to control, it’s an especially useful weapon for attacking at enemy feet.

Stork Comet - Boost hammer (changes with the boost drive). Rush towards the enemy at high speed and attack anyone caught in the crossfire.

Crescent Arch - Charge spear (changes with the Square attack). Forms a bladed arch from the oracle and sends it at the enemy. If upgraded, damage dealt to enemy weak points is amplified.

Pinwheel Drop - Variant size (changes with the aerial Triangle attack). While rotating in the air, fall towards the enemy with high momentum. Your stamina will restore when you hit.

First-Print Bonuses

First-print copies of God Eater 2: Rage Burst include the following Blood Arts:

Killer Beehive – Short blade. A Triangle finish Blood Art. Fires several blades of darkness.

Black Sword of Dreams – Long blade. A zero stance Blood Art. Strengthens the standard attack after stance, but consumes stamina.

CC Ruiner - Buster blade. A charge crash Blood Art. Deals great damage to Aragami when they’re downed.

Hard Juggler - Burst hammer. A burst rush Blood Art. Fires random shells of darkness at the enemy.

Ray Driver - Charge spear. A charge ride Blood Art. Sends a lengthy spear aura towards the enemy.

Glatton Fang - Variant size. A round fang Blood Art. Recovers stamina when the attack begins.

Additionally, you’ll also get the following weapon when defeating the Orochi Aragami, also included with first-print copies:

Serpentine Calamity Blade Ashinazuchi – An evil blade imbued with the blood-lust of the fallen serpent.

God Eater 2: Rage Burst is due out for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in Japan on February 19. A western release has not yet been announced.

Bandai Namco trademarks Rage Burst in Europe

Bandai Namco filed a trademark for “Rage Burst” in Europe today.
“Rage Burst” is the subtitle to the upcoming God Eater 2 updated port for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita, currently only announced for Japan. (If you missed it, we published the game’s latest update this morning.)

With the name’s trademark in a western region, is it possible Bandai Namco is bringing the updated port overseas?
