è evidente che è una macchina per il 1080p; a meno che non ci sia qualche magia software di cui ancora non ci hanno parlato per fare l'upscaling a 4k 60fps

Speaking to the Friends Per Second podcast, Valve’s Pierre-Loup Griffais claimed that the Steam Machine price had not been nailed down internally, but that Valve’s aim was to offer a “good deal” in line with equivalently powered PCs.

“I think that if you build a PC from parts and get to basically the same level of performance, that’s the general price window that we aim to be at,” he said.

“Ideally, we’d be pretty competitive with that and have a pretty good deal, but we’re working on refining that as we speak, and right now is just a hard time to have a really good idea of what the price is going to be because there’s a lot of different things that are fluctuating.”

Asked if Valve would subsidise the cost of Steam Machine in order to be more competitively priced, Griffais claimed it would not.

“No, it’s more in line with what you might expect from the current PC market,” he said. “Obviously, our goal is for it to be a good deal at that level of performance. And then you have features that are actually really hard to build if you’re making your own gaming PC from parts.

“Things like the small form factor and I think the noise level that we achieved or lack thereof is really impressive and we’re excited that the people are going to find out how quiet this thing is.”

Realisticamente quindi, restando sul pessimismo, direi 799. Non ho idea di come potrebbero però dividere le due SKU tbh
 
Continuo a pensare che il modello da 512gb sopra i 599 è follia.
Deck funziona anche per il suo qualità prezzo.

Deck è uscita anche piu di 3 anni fa.

Del frattempo al tizio in giacca di pelle ha deciso (dopo la botta dei bitcoin e del covid) di finire a sputtanare il mercato prima delle GPU e poi praticamente di TUTTO promettendo datacenter legati a generare codice di merda da parte di junior appena usciti dall'università e foto dei gatti e cani su ChatGPT.

Le precondizioni purtroppo oggi sono totalmente diverse.

Temo che sia le nuove console e anche questo "preassemblato" siano a prezzi che poco piaceranno a chiunque.

Si appunto e questo fa pensare ancora di più al fatto che all'epoca era più "conveniente", c'è da dire che c'era anche meno concorrenza in quel mercato ma ancora oggi è una buona spesa.
L'hardware del cubo è già vecchio, ciò che lo rende appetibile, tralasciando le stat che affermano che è più performante del 70% dei pc su steam o quel che è, è il fatto che sia un preassemblato e quindi sia tutto pronto all'uso e il suo essere di piccole dimensioni, quindi utilizzabile sia come console da salotto che come pc.
L'essere pubblicizzato per il 4k non aiuta, indie a parte farà fatica, in proporzione, quanto deck ora con i titoli AAA se si vuole giocare sopra il 1080p.
Resto quindi del pensiero che sopra i 599 perde di senso e conviene guardare altrove o farsi una macchina da soli.
Sarebbe un ottimo modo di entrare nel "mondo pc" ma devono vendere a un prezzo corretto.
