Hell is Us has made true on its promise of delivering a unique experience, but Rogue Factor’s newest game is in fact far away from being a great game.

Engaging Gameplay

Great location diversity

Rewarding exploration in light of not having a typical map

Adequate amount of content; side contents are also plenty

Practical weapon upgrading mechanism

Functional Item tiering system with items ranging from common to elite in the world

The drone has extraordinary capabilities which also help out in combat

The side content of the game may start to feel repetitive, but overall they’re worth to look out for

Owing to Glyphs, there’s an acceptable variety of weapons

Decent soundtrack which fits the game’s theme

Carefully designed challenging puzzles

Overall solid combat mechanics

Acceptable story which lacks suspense and excitement at times

Uncommon and very rare graphical issues (mainly textures not loading in time)

A lack of practicality in numerous Relics and Glyphs

Infrequent FPS drops

Combat in the latter half becomes repetitive

Though combat is heavily emphasized, it offers little enemy variety

Awful boss fights without any thrill or charm
Releasing a demo was probably the best decision Rogue Factory has made. If you liked the demo, you’d certainly enjoy the full game. And if you failed to find the demo engaging, the final product probably won’t be able to change your mind. Releasing Hell is Us in a competitive September probably wasn’t the best of ideas and could also turn out to be detrimental even though it can be considered a worthwhile experience.
Final Score: 7.5/10
