The Internet has been clamoring for it for years. I can't even begin to recall all of the Gabe Newell memes I've come across of him trolling about with Half-Life 3 teases. That all could be coming to an end soon, or we'll witness the biggest troll in Valve's history.

Yesterday, we reported on Steam Trading Cards, and ended it with a teaser straight from the horse's mouth: an announcement that "everyone can be excited about."

Then, PC Gamer magazine teased the following image about what's coming in their next issue that hits newsstands on July 4th:

The cryptic conspiracy doesn't end there. Half-Life 2 received a whopping 3.7GB update recently, which supposedly only adds support for the Korean language. Then the official Steam Support twitter account tweeted that the update "has some issues" followed by some Korean text.

Popping the same Korean text into Google translate provides the following translation: Prepare for unexpected results.

Sound familiar? Am I reading too far into this? Am I caught up in the massive fangasm the far reaches of the Internet are having? Or is Half-Life 3 really being announced soon? Of course, it could be nothing more than a simple language update.

“i can’t confirm all too much since the development is still in early stages, but for now i can confirm that we are going to release on both current and next generation consoles and we will also release the game on our own platform exclusively for Pc and Mac.” John Guthrie writes “We hope to have the first trailer ready for E3 2014, which we (after several times not attending) will finally come back to”

The game is currently under development and will be released on the Pc, Mac, Xbox One, Playstation 4, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. As of now we don’t know how far they are in development, but we expect the first demo and trailer to be released at E3 2014.

Half-Life 3 in arrivo il prossimo anno?

Premettendo che si tratta solamente di un rumor, i fan di Half-Life potrebbero ricevere a breve una bellissima notizia. Niels Boch di NoShitShurlock sostiene di aver avuto una lunga corrispondenza con lo sviluppatore John Guthrie, nella quale sarebbe stata ammessa l'uscita di Half-Life 3 per l'anno prossimo. Sempre secondo lo sviluppatore, il gioco potrebbe arrivare per tutte le piattaforme: non solo Pc e Mac ma anche PS 3, Xbox 360 e le console di nuova generazione. Guthrie non ha rivelato a che punto sia lo sviluppo del terzo capitolo, ma ha precisato che non ci sarà una modalità multiplayer e che il primo trailer, magari accompagnato da una demo, potrebbe essere rilasciato per l'E3 2014.
