No, players cannot transfer PS5 games to a USB drive. PS5 games must be stored on the console’s internal ultra-high speed SSD for gameplay. Explorations for allowing players to store (but not play) PS5 games on a USB drive in a future update are underway.
 
Does PS5 improve my ability to download and store games?

Similar to PS4, PS5 games can offer a feature called “Preferred Install” that allows players to choose which part of a game to install first. This can allow a player to prioritize access to a particular mode or feature. An example could be prioritizing the installation of the single-player or multiplayer component of a game.

In supported PS5 games, players can also choose to remove specific modes or content they no longer want in order to free up storage space. Developers will ultimately determine the level of support offered for these features, but the goal is to maximize storage flexibility.

Downloading and applying game software updates on PS5 should work more quickly than on the PS4 console in general, as the data size of updates and patches is managed more effectively.

Additionally, a feature on the updated PlayStation App for mobile devices will allow players to remotely manage their PS5’s storage if they run out of space when queuing a game to download to their console via the app.

Can I store or play PS5 games from a USB drive?

No, players cannot transfer PS5 games to a USB drive. PS5 games must be stored on the console’s internal ultra-high speed SSD for gameplay. Explorations for allowing players to store (but not play) PS5 games on a USB drive in a future update are underway.

You can, however, store and play PS4 games from a compatible USB drive connected to PS5. For more details, keep reading.

PS5 is compatible with 8K displays at launch, and after a future system software update will be able to output resolutions up to 8K when content is available, with supported software.

WHAT IS BETHESDA’S PLAN FOR NEXT GEN UPGRADES?
We’re excited for the new consoles and are pleased to let you know that The Elder Scrolls Online and DOOM Eternal will be our first games to receive free next generation console upgrades. We have not announced when these upgrades will be available. Upgrades will apply to both physical and digital versions of each title, but please note that physical versions will not be able to upgrade on the digital-only versions of the next generation console.

HOW DO I UPGRADE FROM XBOX ONE TO XBOX SERIES X OR SERIES S?
Upgrading your eligible title is easy! Once an upgrade is available, the Xbox Series X and Series S will use Microsoft’s Smart Delivery system to upgrade eligible games automatically. This applies to both physical and digital versions of an eligible title. If you own the physical version on Xbox One, the Xbox One disc will need to be inserted into the Xbox Series X to receive the upgrade and will still be required play. Please note: An internet connection will be required.

HOW DO I UPGRADE FROM PLAYSTATION 4 TO PLAYSTATION 5?
Upgrading your eligible title is easy! Once the console is available and the eligible game is available for upgrade, you will be able to download your free upgrade from the PlayStation Store. This applies to both physical and digital versions of eligible titles. If you own the physical version on PlayStation 4, the PlayStation 4 disc will need to be inserted into the PlayStation 5 to receive the upgrade and will still be required to play.
Please note: An internet connection will be required.

WILL THE UPGRADE APPLY TO BOTH PHYSICAL AND DIGITAL VERSIONS OF THE GAME?
Yes! Owners of physical versions or digital versions of The Elder Scrolls Online or DOOM Eternal will be able to upgrade. It’s important to note though, that if you own a physical version of the game, you will need to use the disc to upgrade and to play on the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X. Physical versions will not be able to upgrade on the digital-only versions of the next generation console.

WILL THE UPGRADE BE AVAILABLE ON DAY 1 OF CONSOLE RELEASE?
No, the upgraded next gen versions of DOOM Eternal and The Elder Scrolls Online will not be available day 1. However, both titles will still be playable on Xbox Series X/Series X and PlayStation 5 with backwards compatibility on day 1.
When we know the timing for the availability of the upgrade, we will let everyone know.

IS THERE A COST TO UPGRADE MY GAME FROM CURRENT GEN TO NEXT GEN?
Nope! There is no additional cost to you if you are upgrading DOOM Eternal or The Elder Scrolls Online from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5/PlayStation 5 Digital Edition or Xbox One to Xbox Series X/ Series S.

HOW WILL I RECEIVE THIS UPGRADE IF I HAVE A GAME’S PHYSICAL VERSION AND PURCHASE A DIGITAL-ONLY NEXT GEN CONSOLE?
Owners of physical copies of The Elder Scrolls Online or DOOM Eternal will not be able to upgrade if purchasing the digital-only next generation console.

IS THERE A TIME LIMIT FOR HOW LONG THIS OPPORTUNITY WILL BE AVAILABLE?
There is currently no time limit. Once a next gen upgrade is available for an eligible game, you will be able to upgrade from Xbox One to Xbox Series X/Series S or PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5 at any time.

I PURCHASED ADDITIONAL CONTENT/DLC. WILL THIS CONTENT BE INCLUDED ON NEXT GEN WITH THE FREE UPGRADE?
Yes. All additional digital content/DLC purchased on eligible titles will transfer over with the upgrade to next generation consoles, but only if the user is signed in with the same platform account used to make the purchase (e.g. PSN ID/Xbox Gamertag).
This includes:
  • Additional Content
  • Digital offers and incentives such as pre-order offers
  • Content purchased in-game
  • Content purchased from the Xbox Store or PlayStation Store
WILL I GET THE FREE UPGRADE IF I PLAY ON PLAYSTATION 4 AND GET AN XBOX SERIES X/SERIES S?
No. You will only be able to upgrade PlayStation 4 eligible games to PlayStation 5. Xbox One versions of eligible titles will not be accessible on PlayStation 5.

WILL I GET THE FREE UPGRADE IF I PLAY ON XBOX ONE AND GET A PLAYSTATION 5?
No. You will only be able to upgrade Xbox One eligible games to Xbox Series X or Series S. PlayStation 4 versions of eligible titles will not be accessible on Xbox consoles.

CAN I USE MY XBOX ONE OR PLAYSTATION 4 SAVE ON MY XBOX SERIES X/SERIES S OR PLAYSTATION 5?
Any DOOM Eternal or Elder Scrolls Online save created on Xbox One will be available on Xbox Series X/Series S. Any DOOM Eternal or Elder Scrolls Online save created on PlayStation 4 will be available on PlayStation 5. Note: You must be logged into the same Xbox Live account or PlayStation Network account used to create the save.

IF I GIVE AWAY A PHYSICAL COPY OF AN ELIGIBLE XBOX ONE OR PLAYSTATION 4 TITLE AFTER I’VE UPGRADED, WILL I BE ABLE TO PLAY IT ON THE XBOX SERIES X OR SERIES S OR PLAYSTATION 5?
No. If you no longer have the disc from your physical version of the game, you will not be able to play on the next generation console. Physical versions of the game will require the game disc in order to play on next generation.

CAN I UPGRADE FROM NINTENDO SWITCH VERSION OF AN ELIGIBLE TITLE?
No. The Next Generation upgrade only applies to eligible titles on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

WILL PC PLAYERS GET A FREE OPTIMIZATION UPGRADE TOO?
No. The next generation upgrade only applies to eligible titles on the next generation consoles.

CAN I PLAY THE SAME SAVE ON XBOX SERIES X/SERIES S ON XBOX ONE OR PLAYSTATION 5 AND PLAYSTATION 4?
Yes. Saves made on PlayStation 5 are also accessible on PlayStation 4 (for supported titles). The same is true for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. Regardless of platform, you must be signed-in, using the same account, and have an active internet connection.
 
Will PlayStation Plus offer PS5 games?

All PlayStation Plus members will continue to receive at least two great PS4 games each month.

Ormai manca davvero poco.. 10 giorni in teoria, 14 per quel che finora indica amazon.. spero che amazon invece che posticipare spedizione, l'anticipi.. diciamo che mi andrebbe benissimo anche il rispetto del D1, o al max ritardo di un giorno (quindi al 20).. il 23 è così lontano, non ne vedo motivo, sopratutto se sony spedisce console con anticipo (e penso lo farà) e per gli utenti che hanno prenotato alla prima ondata..

Sono andato da Euronics giù da me, ho fatto un po' il vago, ho detto magari me la danno.
Niente, ha detto che come già sappiamo gli arriveranno solo le console prenotate, che sony ha bloccato tutto, e che mi chiamerà qual ora fossero disponibili per il ritiro.

Sto diventando pazzo, mia moglie mi uccide a breve :asd:
