Is Tokyo Xanadu a smartphone game?

Nihon Falcom sent out an interesting tweet this morning.

The Ys developer is looking to hire “all sorts” of people, specifically stating those that can work on smartphone games, computer browser games, and MMORPGs. Attached to this tweet is the promotional image of Tokyo Xanadu, whose platform has yet to be announced, suggesting the game is tied to one of the three aforementioned formats.

Falcom is bringing its PS Vita action RPG Tokyo Xanadu to PlayStation 4 in the form of Tokyo Xanadu eX+, the latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation reveals. It will launch in Japan on September 8 for 6,480 yen.






The formerly PS Vita-exclusive action RPG launched last September in Japan. It is set in the fictional Morimiya city on the outskirts of Tokyo and depicts the activities of a group of “Qualified” high school students who use “Soul Devices” to battle against creatures known as “Greed” in the “Other World.”

The PlayStation 4 version of the game will include an after-story set several months after the events of the main game and side stories for each character (with the exception of Kou). The additional story volume is said to be equal to about two chapters of the main story. There are also new playable characters, including White Shroud and “Technique Unleashed State Asuka,” as well as others. Other additions include a “Calamity” difficulty mode (for a total of five difficulties: Beginner, Normal, Advanced, Elite, and Calamity), and Boss Time Attack and Boss Rush modes. Cross-save with the PS Vita version is not supported.

penso che sia abbastanza sicuro. Forse proprio per questa stava tardando la localizzazione della versione vita.

Il punto è: chi se ne occupa? Quando? XSEED è LENTISSIMA, e già per conto di Falcom sta lavorando su Cold Steel, e probabilmente su YsVIII. A meno che la localizzazione non sia avviata già da tempo... la vedo dura.

Vero che la tendenza-Persona sta dilagando un po' troppo (mi vengono in mente pure Caligula e Mind Zero ad averlo copiato), ma se c'è qualcuno che sicuramente avrà tirato fuori qualcosa di buono dal copiare Persona, quella è sicuramente Falcom!

Guarda qualche trailer.

Da Persona prende l'impostazione dei dungeon forse, poi sicuramente il setting moderno/scolastico, e la doppia vita del cast giocabile.
