Per quanto riguarda l'anno in corso è stato generalmente una delusione, ho dovuto aspettare la terza stagione di Twin Peaks per vedere un prodotto audiovisivo che mi lasciasse estremamente soddisfatto nella visione e senza parecchi "ma" in testa Diciamo che ho più singoli momenti o elementi dei film che mi sono rimasti impressi piuttosto che la loro interezza: la tensione drammatica del quotidiano ne Il Cliente, il martirio interiore di Silence, la potenza scenica dell'incontro con l'ignoto in Arrival, la struttura narrativa de Il Cittadino Illustre, l'identificazione della forma cinematografica con le forme del potere in Jackie, la malinconia dello scontro generazionale in certe scene di Tony Erdmann, la rilettura crepuscolare del genere supereroistico in Logan.

Tra le delusioni, oltre La La Land di cui ho parlato nel topic, la più cocente è stato l'ultimo film Ghibli diretto da un francese, La Tartaruga Rossa, che cerca costantemente l'immagine poetica, il momento strappalacrime, la grande metafora sulla vita, senza comprendere che la potenza di certi momenti, almeno negli altri film Ghibli, sta nel modo in cui questi erano integrati e sostenuti dalla narrazione, non dalla sostanza visiva in sé. Anche il seguito dei Guardiani mi ha deluso, da persona che aveva apprezzato il primo: è eccessivamente more of the same (ripete e potenzia sia i punti di forza che quelli di debolezza del primo episodio) e sfrutta malissimo gli elementi che ha a disposizione (quante cose si potevano fare con quel villain, e invece...) Anche Get Out di cui si parlava benissimo mi ha lasciato parzialmente deluso, l'ho trovato tanto interessante nella sua metafora politica quanto spento nei suoi elementi più genuinamente thriller/horror, con una trama eccessivamente telefonata e una regia incapace di restituire appieno la paranoia sociale che vorrebbe descrivere.

Ma in ogni caso c'è un film che qui tutti dovrebbero conoscere perché è il classico esempio di so bad is so good che genera nuovi standard personali di bruttezza: si tratta del King Arthur di Ritchie (giustissimo floppone) che ha ridefinito quello che per me significa l'espressione "tutto il film è montato come un trailer", perché magari altrove si tratta di iperboli, mentre qui è INCREDIBILMENTE VERO

Tra quelli The childhood of a leader è quello che mi attira di più, anche questo o ornitologo mi incuriosisce ma ancora non si trova nemmeno sottotitolato, più in là magari. Il primo me lo guardo a breve invece. :stema:
