Street Fighter costumes are available in the game via codes entered on the title screen while the "Special" option is highlighted.

Una strana e fortuita coincidenza :woo:

Sixteen years before its release and by coincidence, the title "Super Mario Galaxy" was first mentioned in a fan letter written to Nintendo Power by Jimmy Peterford of Glen Cove, New York. The letter in question, which was printed in the December 1991 issue, detailed a fantasy game system called the "Raw Power System," which would come bundled with a game named "Super Mario Galaxy," but in Peterford's words, would be "better known as Super Mario Bros. 24!

The Castles of Doctor Creep.

When you first start the game, Spyro isn't given a chance to introduce himself. Despite this, Pogo the Gemcutter already knows his name. In the Japanese version, however, he refers to him as 'Dragon-san' instead.

Doctor Nefarious Tropy was added to the game as the developers felt a time travelling boss was needed, as the game focused on time travel. His shortened name, N. Tropy, is a pun on entropy, a term used to measure randomness and disorder over time.

Modifiche inspiegate:sowhat:

The European release's music in the Sword Dojo is a bit different from the Japanese and US releases. The reason for this change is unknown.

Diddy Kong Racing

Tiptup is a recurring NPC character in the Banjo-Kazooie series that, along with Banjo, also made his debut in Diddy Kong Racing in 1997. However, Tiptup was originally the name of a turtle in Dream: Land of Giants, the game that would eventually morph into Banjo-Kazooie. Halfway through the development of BK, the development team behind Diddy Kong Racing (or Pro-Am 64 as it was called before Diddy Kong was included later on) were in need of names for their racers, one of which happened to be a turtle, and thus it was given the Tiptup name. Tiptup was then incorporated into future Rare games like Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie.

The fictional village of Hanuda, the setting of the game, is based on an actual abandoned Japanese mining town in Chichibu, Saitama.

Ne basta uno:

Metal Slug 2

There is an early screenshot from an arcade flyer that shows players fighting two Allens. In the game, there is only one.

In the mission "Phnom Penh '86", a worker, like those seen in the mission "Riot", can be seen jumping off of the bridge that the helicopter flies under. The camera must be pointed behind the helicopter in order to see this.

Piccola grande curiosità :campione:

At the end of the level, "Pelennor Fields", there is a cutscene depicting the battle between the Witch King of Angmar and Eowyn where the armor and weapon of the Witch King does not match his film counterpart. His weapon being a large mace rather than a flail and his helmet having a different design entirely. This was an early alternate design that went unused in the Return of the King film. Because this game was being produced alongside the film the developers presumably had no time to change it to his final film design before launch.

Una scommessa vincente:

Donkey Kong Land

According to the manual, the whole game was made because Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong had a bet with Cranky Kong that they could have fun even without "fancy graphics" and "modern music" like in Donkey Kong Country.

In the Freedom HQ, you can find a series of screens that have some Precursor text scrolling on them. When translated, the text becomes a farewell message to Naughty Dog's pet/mascot, Morgan, who died at age 13.

Soul Edge:

Tekken 3

In Paul and Bryan's stage is a piece of graffiti that says "Soul Edge". This is a reference to another Namco game, Soul Blade, which was titled "Soul Edge" in Japan.

In the mission, "Dead Man's Treasure", The End from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater makes a cameo by "contacting" Big Boss from the grave via the Codec (frequency 0.00).

The image of Luigi's shadow casting into the mansion's entrance seen in the pause menu is actually taken from the game's E3 2001 announcement trailer.
