In the Marukatsu Megadrive interview, the game's composer Yuzo Koshiro was asked about what music influenced the game. He responded: "I started writing the music last Spring, which was right around the time The Orb was coming to Japan, and everyone (myself included) was super excited about that. I was listening to Prodigy and Eon too, stuff with weird lyrics."

An unused FMV can be found within the data of the game's second disc. The FMV features a song entitled "Stars of Tears", a vocal track performed by Joanne Hogg and composed by Yasunori Mitsuda that doesn't play anywhere else during the game.

When using the "Fist" sub-weapon, Juste will yell out "Oraoraora!!". This is likely a reference to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, and the main character Jotarou Kujo, Star Platinum, repeating "Oraoraora!!" over and over again while punching.

There are 4 different sets of dialogue that the Black Queen and Professor T. Bird will speak in the ending cutscene. These sets of dialogue are selected at random.

In the GameCube version, taking out a bomb but not kicking it away will result in Joe whistling the beginning of the Super Mario Bros. theme. During the cutscene where you inquire the location of a jet fighter in Jowai Resort, one of the subtitles for the Resort owner's dialogue reads "Hold on hold on, I can see that you really want to fly our jet so I'll tell you what. Go talk to Bob at his Roboshack. He knows about these locks". The "Hold on Hold on" part of this sentence was omitted in spoken dialogue.

The game's antagonist General RAAM was a last-minute addition to the game, and due to time constraints and looming production deadlines, his backstory and related context in Act 5 were not included in the original Xbox 360 release of Gears of War, but would be included in all of its future releases. RAAM was also named after the owner of a local Indian restaurant that Epic Games' staff frequented during development.

If you have a full inventory up until the point where Porky's mom squashes Buzz Buzz, he will notice that Ness can't hold the Sound Stone right now and won't give it to him. Instead, he will transport it to Tracy, meaning that you don't have to hold the Sound Stone in your inventory for the entire game and it will still record the melodies of the "Your Sanctuary" locations even in Tracy's possession. Normally, the Sound Stone remains in your inventory for the whole game and cannot be sent to Escargo Express. If you do wish to have the Sound Stone back from Tracy, you must talk to her in-person.

During "Dissidia Final Fantasy NT: Behind the English voice cast" with Steve Burton (Cloud Strife's English voice actor), Steve explained the reason why he got the role for Cloud, was because of a guy from "Square" who's in charged for the voices of the characters, was watching a movie of him in "The Last Castle".
