La storia dei videogiochi ci insegna che la prima apparizione di Luigi, il fratello di Mario, risale a Mario Bros, famoso titolo arcade successivamente convertito per diverse piattaforme. Osservando, però, il filmato di apertura di Donkey Kong Jr, il seguito del primo storico Donkey Kong, possiamo notare due Mario che rapiscono il povero Donkey Kong. Chi sarà mai il secondo Mario? Un sosia? Luigi?

In the Kitchen of Max's house, there is a bright white picture hanging on the wall opposite to the Kitchen door with the words "Dark Chronicle" written on it. Dark Chronicle is the original name of the game and the one used for its Japanese and European releases. In North America and South Korea however, the game was released as "Dark Cloud 2".

The scene in South Figaro basement where Celes is punched by the guard in the and then chained to a wall in the original Final Fantasy VI for Super Nintendo, Playstation 1 has been cut out due to the Japans rating system on violence, The remake of Final Fantasy VI for Gameboy Advance, Android, iOS, Steam has the soldiers taunting Celes and she faints while tied up on the ground.

Tagli senza il benché minimo senso

The English version of the DS-remake that was released was stripped of the Party Chat feature, a mechanic in which selecting the "talk" button when there was no one to talk to would instead make the current party members talk to each other, revealing hints and much needed characterization. Given that one of the major flaws of the original game was that each character's personality disappeared once they joined your party in Chapter 5, this feature was considered very welcome indeed. Thankfully, this feature isn't removed from the later remakes of V and VI nor the mobile port.

However, due to the White-Silver Dragoon's ability to heal 100% of its health while also having an unlimited MP supply, the boss was cut from the title as it was considered an unbeatable fight. Contaminazioni cybernetiche



La versione per Super Nintendo del gioco illustra (grazie anche ad un volantino promozionale a fumetto) una storia nella quale i tre vigilante sono in realtà dei cyborg membri della "Combatribe Cyborg Unit", creati per difendere i cittadini di New York dalle bande di criminali; inizialmente i cyborg erano quattro ma uno di essi, Martha Splatterhead, ha deciso di prendere la parte dei criminali per poter controllare la città tramite l'organizzazione "Ground Zero" (rinominata "Guilty Zero" nella versione per Nintendo Wii per evitare chiari riferimenti agli attentati dell'11 settembre 2001).

Cameo Boss fight!

During the events at Warrior's Roost's "Riot Peak" challenge, the player is assisted by a black robed guardian. Upon completing the Riot Peak Normal class, the player will meet with and be challenged by the guardian, who reveals himself to be Veigue Lungberg, the main character of Tales of Rebirth. Upon defeating him, the player earns the Laevatein sword for Asbel. Veigue will also put in a Request for the player to find a sword named "Requiem" for him. The player can challenge Veigue again any time they desire after winning or losing to him, although should the player challenge him after winning, they will have to fight him solo with the character they have chosen. The player can also battle Amber Hearts from Tales of Hearts, and Reala from Tales of Destiny 2, within the bonus dungeon "Zhonecage." When beaten, they give out requests for certain weapons. Once these requests are fulfilled, Amber and Reala can fight alongside Veigue in the final battle of Riot Peak.

Cut feature

The mini-fridge in Travis' room at Motel "NO MORE HEROES" can be used to heal him, even though it's impossible to lose health outside of ranking matches and assassination gigs and Travis' health is always restored after completing or failing a gig. Both the game and its instruction manual still point out this feature regardless. This suggests that there were either plans for enemies to appear in the overworld of Santa Destroy that could harm Travis outside of his missions, or it was implemented purely for creative effect.

According to director/writer Hironobu Sakaguchi and writer Yoshinori Kitase, Final Fantasy V marked the first time they worked together on a game. Kitase then commented about their working relationship during the game's development: "Mr. Sakaguchi and I worked on [the game's] events in a relay, so when we would go to work, the first thing we'd do is check the data the other had put up to check the continuity. We'd see each other's work and think 'I'll make something even better!' in a sort of competition

Not a sequel

Rogue Galaxy started its development as the third installment of the Dark Cloud series before it became its own title, as the developers wanted to try something new rather than do another game in a fantasy setting. There are two early title screens inside the game's files of both the US and Japanese releases of the game, with one of them using the Dark Chronicle title. Said files are also named "[DC3]". The Japanese version also contains some files being referred internally as "[DC3]-Project".
