Interviewer: "Many fans of the original Final Fantasy 7 were not happy to be faced with a plot rehash.
We would like to know how you experienced this situation and whether you took the feedback into account during the development of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth."
Nomura: "From the very beginning, when we planned the entire Remake project as a trilogy, we established the general structure and decided from the very beginning everything that would change and everything that would stay the same. We did not really take into consideration the reactions to the Remake, nor did we change anything based on them as far as Rebirth is concerned. However, I would like to say that we are convinced that when users have played all three games, after reaching the end of the story, they will be faced with a conclusion that will satisfy and make every kind of Final Fantasy 7 fan happy.
So our hope is that people will choose to stick with us and be able to get to see that ending, but obviously we haven't changed anything based on the reactions."
