Giro di boa anche per me, mese abbastanza proficuo, in particolare consiglio Void Bastards e What Remain of Edith Finch due produzioni davvero interessanti.

Metro Exodus è un titolo complicato da analizzare, mi ha sorpreso la quantità di dettagli sui personaggi inserita rispetto agli altri capitoli e in generale ho trovato carine le diverse ambientazioni presenti.

Allo stesso tempo il gioco non mi è sembrato un grosso passo in avanti rispetto al precedente capitolo dal punto di vista del gameplay.

Tanto bello SOMA, va insersi in quella strana nicchia dell'horror-triste che ho scoperto essere capace di toccare le mie corde emotive in combinazioni insolite. Punto debole sono i sempre citati incontri con i mostri, che riescono sì a mettere tensione ma che mettono anche a dura prova la sospensione dell'incredulità, a causa degli schemi comportamentali banali, dei tempi morti, delle attese e delle ripetizioni che quasi ogni incontro si porta dietro, e soprattutto da una concezione del game over totalmente velleitaria. Fortunatamente però il gioco non punta su di essi, utilizzandoli più che altro come contrappunto alle fasi più narrativo-esplorative, in modo da non allentare la tensione (anche se per qualcuno potrebbero sortire l'effetto opposto, ovvero di spezzare un ritmo peraltro ben gestito). Il piatto forte di SOMA è infatti la componente narrativa e ambientale, brillante sia nel world-building che nel sollevare le questioni etico-esistenziali che di fatto hanno ispirato la realizzazione del gioco tutto, oltre che molto piacevole nello svolgimento degli sparsi dialoghi. Forse si poteva fare di più per quanto riguarda la narrativa ambientale in senso proprio, qui di fatto relegata ai soliti audiolog. Anche esteticamente è una meraviglia per chiunque sia attratto da scenari squisitamente talassofobici, qui esaltati da una direzione artistica circa a metà strada fra un Dead space ed un Bioshock (seppur senza quasi mai toccare le vette di questi due). Tecnicamente purtroppo non è quasi mai all'altezza dell'idea, con una resa visiva più vicina a quella di un gioco PS3 che ad uno della generazione corrente. Molto apprezzabile l'interattività e la coerenza del mondo di gioco, anche se ho la sensazione che nelle intenzioni degli autori sarebbe dovuta essere sviluppata molto più approfonditamente (ad esempio alcuni spunti nell'utilizzo della fisica delle prime fasi di gioco che non vengono più ripresi e sviluppati). Ho trovato piacevoli anche i piccoli puzzle in cui ci si imbatte qua e là nel corso della narrazione, non particolarmente complessi ma se non altro rispettosi dell'intelligenza del giocatore. Nel complesso, nonostante le innegabili imperfezioni, l'ho trovato una bellissima esperienza, capace di affascinare, mettere tensione, far riflettere e perché no, commuovere.

Ho anche iniziato Pyre dei Supergiant, dopo aver amato Transistor, ma devo dire che sta faticando ad entusiasmarmi. La lore e i personaggi non mi sembrano abbastanza interessanti da giustificare la mole di testo, alcune meccaniche narrative (i bivi) sono a dir poco scarne, e anche il gameplay vero e proprio, molto semplicemente, non mi sembra poi così divertente. Anche dal punto di vista della direzione artistica lo sto trovando più altalenante di quanto mi sarei aspettato (bellissimi i ritratti dei personaggi, un po' meh tutto il resto). Esperimento interessante per come cerca di mescolare generi e di inventare una nuova idea di narrazione dinamica ma, sinceramente, non un granché come gioco. Non so se avrò la voglia di portarlo a termine. Peccato.

Aggiornamento di luglio:

per quanto riguarda gli acquisti ho recuperato due goty sostituendo due versioni lisce giusto per giocare i dlc e ripreso pvz a 2 euro sullo store per fare qualche partita ogni tanto.

Ho prenotato due giochi in dd sfruttando la promo di gamestop sulle carte psn, solitamente compro retail ma questi due giochi si prestavano a questo tipo di acquisto.

Ho finalmente iniziato e finito Wolf2, buon capitolo però ho preferito il primo e lo spin off Old Blood essenzialmente per le mappe poco ispirate e ripetitive oltre che per un numero di armi un po' deludente.

CTR si è rivelato un ottimo passatempo estivo, molto divertente la modalità storia, online invece mi ha detto nulla.

VC4 è stata una bella sorpresa, mi ha impegnato 35-40 h che mi sono goduto. Ottimo tattico, peccato per l'i.a. a volte veramente ridicola.
