NisiOisin's Bakemonogatari Novel Gets Manga in March

The official Twitter account of writer NisiOisin revealed on Wednesday that his Bakemonogatari novel will get a manga adaptation that will launch in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine on March 14. The series will start in this year's 15th issue of the magazine.

NisiOisin's Densetsu Series Ends With 10th Volume in March

The official Twitter account of writer NisiOisin (Monogatari series, Medaka Box) revealed on December 28 that his Densetsu (Legend) series of novels will end with the 10th volume. The ninth volume, Hikyūden, is slated for February 28, while the 10th volume, Hijūden, is slated for March 28.

Air Gear Artist 'Oh! great' Revealed as Bakemonogatari Manga Artist

Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine revealed on its Twitter account, after providing an illustration hint, that manga artist Oh! great (Ito Ogure) is in charge of adapting NisiOisin's Bakemonogatari novel into a manga series. The manga serialization will begin in this year's 15th issue on March 14.

Bakemonogatari Manga's 1st Volume Bundles Short Story by NisiOisin

Kodansha revealed on Wednesday that a special edition of the first compiled book volume of manga artist Oh! great's (Ito Ogure) manga adaptation of NisiOisin's Bakemonogatari novel will contain "Hitagi Dish," an original "short short story" by NisiOisin.

The volume will also include an exclusive short manga titled "Bake 'mono' gatari" (spelled with the "mono" kanji meaning "person" instead of the original kanji meaning "thing") by the artist, as well as color illustration cards with art by Hiro Mashima (Fairy Tail), Atsushi Ohkubo (Soul Eater), and Yōsuke Kaneda (Boarding School Juliet). The volume (seen right) will ship on June 15.

The official website for the Monogatari franchise began streaming a trailer on Friday for the anime adaptation of NisiOisin's Zoku Owarimonogatari novel. The video previews TrySail's ending theme song "azure." (Note: The video on the official website is region-locked to Japan. A region-free version is below.)



The anime will screen in 30 theaters in Japan in an event screening starting on November 10.
